Comparison

CalSpark vs Housecall Pro

Housecall Pro has a long feature list and a user cap on each plan. CalSpark has a shorter feature list and one flat price. Which is right depends on how many of those features you open each week.

How Housecall Pro pricing works for 3, 6 and 10 users

Read from Housecall Pro's public pricing page on October 6, 2026. Competitor prices are taken from each company's public pricing page as of October 2026. Plans change. Check their sites before you decide.

Basic is $79 a month for 1 user. Essentials is $189 for 5 users. MAX is $329 for 8 users, with $35 a month for each additional user. These are monthly-billing prices. Annual billing lists lower: $59, $149 and $299.

Monthly cost at 3, 6 and 10 users, public prices as of October 2026, monthly billing, no commitment
Team sizeCalSparkHousecall ProDifference per year vs Housecall Pro
3 users$49 flat$189 (5 users included) (Essentials)$1,680 more on Housecall Pro
6 users$49 flat$329 (8 users included) (MAX)$3,360 more on Housecall Pro
10 users$49 flat$329 + 2 x $35 = $399 (MAX)$4,200 more on Housecall Pro

The jumps are the point. Going from 5 to 6 users moves you from Essentials to MAX, a $140 a month step. Hiring your sixth person costs more than one extra seat. Your ninth and tenth add $35 each on top of MAX.

The page also lists other products, such as Campaigns, Payroll and vehicle GPS, without prices. They are not in the table, so if you use them your total is higher.

What you give up by switching to CalSpark

  • The sales proposal tool and flat-rate pricing. CalSpark estimates are plain line items.
  • QuickBooks Online sync and employee GPS tracking, listed from Essentials.
  • Route optimization and recurring maintenance agreements with their own billing, listed on MAX. CalSpark has recurring jobs and an API on every plan, with the API off until an admin enables it.
  • Customer texting and marketing products such as Campaigns and Voice. CalSpark sends email, and texts need your own Twilio account.
  • An Android app and a published iOS app.
  • A mature vendor. CalSpark has no customers yet and a short list of working features.

What CalSpark covers today is scheduling and invoicing: the dispatch board, conflict warnings, job photos and invoices with card payment.

Who should stay on Housecall Pro

  • You use a price book, flat-rate pricing, the sales proposal tool or service plans with their own billing every week.
  • Your books live in QuickBooks Online and you want the sync now.
  • You need route optimization or vehicle GPS.
  • You are a one-person shop, where Basic at $79 is close to CalSpark anyway.
  • You have Android technicians who need an app.

Who should try CalSpark

  • You are at 5 to 10 users and a plan jump is coming or just happened.
  • You mostly dispatch and invoice, and the rest sits unused.
  • You want to know next year's bill: it is $49 whether you hire one more tech or three.

Try it with a real week of jobs for 14 days, no card. Bring your customer list with the CSV import. See what a small shop needs in this guide.
